TEL-Hub and Department of Psychological Studies co-organised a series of sharing sessions to share the experiences of implementing blended learning tools in Psychological courses on 9 March, 23 March and 13 April 2016.
In the first two sessions, Mr. Brant Knutzen from TEL-Hub introduced the Participation Forum on Moodle, and a simulation of psychological disorder in the virtual environment of Second Life. In these sessions Dr. Emma Buchtel and Dr. Chan Ka Shing Kevin from Department of Psychological Studies shared their experiences of implementing these technologies to create blended learning in their courses to enhance student active engagement. Moreover, they shared some of the positive feedbacks from their students on using these tools allowing them to gain a better understanding of their lectures. In a third session Dr. Buchtel shared her experience of implementing a wiki from the free, education-focused Wikispaces to organize, coordinate, and support PS students doing research theses. A total of 25 staff participated in these sharing sessions, and they expressed strong interest in the the examples and demonstration of different tools.
